Feeling Smarter…

I sit there, head in hands

blank expression, pretend to understand

words go in but don’t bind, why wont people understand my type of mind

I need to use my hands, need to be moving, I find music and colours much more soothing

cant remember facts and figures, they’re all empty gestures

why wont teachers take better measures

when exam time comes i’l be stressed out my mind, looking for answers i’l be unable to find

the method of banking education is lacking, kinaesthetic and listeners are those we should be backing

I sit there, head in hands

blank expression, pretend to understand

Observations

marriage is now equal but after so long, when did loving someone become so wrong.

people in the street, begging for cash, politicians on their pedestal with opinions so brash.

families struggle for food in their hands, blamed for the evils of the land.

is bedroom tax really a priority for communities change or is it a way to place more blame

if you have the funds, you have the power, if your in need of support then you had best cower

who makes the rules and who has the power

the rich classes, the ruling elites high in their tower

its time we fought back from a position that’s fair

we want change is what we should declare

Tuppence a Fag

Selling your body for a night of regret
Showing no emotion for the people you’ve met
Giving up morals for a frivolous fuck
Using a condom, not chancing your luck
They will mean nothing to you, they’re only a wage
No matter their gender, their looks or their age
For some it’s essential, for others it’s choice
For some they decide to, some have no voice
Whether they choose to hide it or be proud and brag
You cannot escape paying a tuppence a fag.

Determined Destinations

From birth to the grave we have been told want to be,

is it a he or is it a she

will you be stupid or will you be smart, your life is chosen right from the start

Lawyer, postman, doctor or police

Thug, junkie, criminal or thief

labels stay with us, we are chastised and shamed

Praise is so rare when there is so much blame

But when we are praised we can be great, we can stamp out injustice, fight the worlds hate

From birth to the grave we have been told want to be, when I grow up, I want to be me

The Depth of Below

For Skot

I wake up in the morning and wipe the tired from my eyes
Have a wee stretch and notice something down by my thighs
Surely its not me that’s giving odd that smell
So I waft the covers a bit so I can surely tell
My god it is!, what happened last night… AWW hell its seeped right through to my tights
Its sticky, smelly and yellow by and large
The morning I realised I have vaginal discharge

Upcoming Storm

Hi folks,

I’ve been rather quiet with my poems and I apologise, I have been gathering inspiration for other poems and think I’m on to a few. Hope you keep sharing my poems, hope they keep you smiling

Technological Tendancies

The fight for attention is fast on the rise
Twitter telling you what’s currently hot and who has recently died

We are in an age we don’t leave the house
Facts at our fingertips, at the click of a mouse

Whether we like it or not we are prisoners of news, able to comment, share and voice our views

but what about when we could talk and share, there is now no point but to switch on the screen, sit and stare

Hospitals

been in the emergency room more times than i can remember, from sunny april to cold november

from cut heads to broken noses, wee kids crying because they hurt their toesies

Been in for my family my friends, watching the strangers

opening my eyes to a world full of dangers

been in the emergency room more times than i can remember, from sunny april to cold november

Stress

Someone told me stress would be a thing of the past

The troubles and woes of  what has been wouldnt last. I was

Ready to embrace my future, ready to progress, I was ready to

Embrace my life, live it free from stress

Someone told me stress would be a thing of the past

Someone told me it wouldn’t last

Star Stealer

This is it, time to touch the stars

5

I hear the engine rumbling with anticipation, groaning with excitement

4

I feel the beat of my heart, the pounding in my head and the blood drain from my face

3

no turning back now, the wires are ejected from my trembling tin can, the new lick of paint cracking under the strain of gravity…what number are we on… 3… Or… 2

2

OH NO! I feel my heart thumping faster, my thoughts become jumbled

1

I gather my thoughts, my heart rate steadies
